CNS MARCH 2008 NEWSLETTER

Our Winter Corporation Meeting was held Wednesday night, February 27^th. Attendance was low, but I want to thank all of you that took the time to attend. I would like to welcome the following people who were elected to the CNS Board of Directors:Preeti Mahajan & Nathan Stucky (new members), Joe Mathews, Dagmar Taylor, Veronica Banks & Patrick Rollinson (2^ndterm).

Talent Show

On Thursday, March 6 ^th, beginning at 1:30 p.m. the children will have the opportunity to participate in our child-led talent show. The performers will need to provide their own props, music or costumes. Parents are welcome!

Spring Break

Our Spring Break is scheduled for the week of March 10-14. See you all Monday, March 17^th.

Early Dismissal

Our next early dismissal is Friday, March7^th. Dismissal is at 2:00 with after school care until 5:30.

Donuts with Dad

The Los Chicos and their dads will have breakfast on Thursday, March 20^th. Watch for details from Teresa and Stacy.

All School Dance

Due to weather, the Valentine's Day dance had to be rescheduled. So, there will be a Valentine's, Easter, St. Patrick's Day and Spring dance on Thursday, March 20. Details to follow...

No School

There is no school on Friday , March 21st.

Work Days

At the last board meeting, it was decided to schedule one work day per month. Here is a list of dates: Saturdays: March 22^nd April 19^{t h} and May 3^rd. As the dates approach, watch for a schedule and tasks to be completed.

Board Meeting

Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25^th at 6:30 p.m. Please feel free to attend.

Staff Appreciation Week

The week is March 24 - 28^th. Kathleen Ensor (Natalie's mom) is organizing the week. Please watch for information and jump in and help!!

Pre-Registration

It's that time of year when we need to begin planning for the next school year. So, during Parent/Teacher conferences in April you will be asked if your child(ren) will be returning to CNS for the 2008-2009 school year. Even though this is an informal survey, it is important that you share your intentions. The actual pre-registration will take place at the end of April.

Fund-raisers:

CNS Clothing

An order form was put in family mailboxes last week. The font of CNS at the top of the order sheet is what will appear on the front of the shirts. I am trying to get pictures of the various types of shirts to put on display to help with ordering. Remember, the order form is due on Wednesday, March 5^th. No late orders will be excepted.

Plant Sale

This wonderful event will take place at CNS on Saturday, April 12^th. Hanging baskets, bedding and potted plants from McNitts Nursery will be available. Please watch for further details. As the date approaches, a sign-up sheet for volunteers to work that day will be posted in the foyer. Please mark your calendars now. Thanks.

Murder Mystery Dinner

Tickets will soon be on sale in the office for our 5^th Mystery Dinner fund-raiser at the Unitarian Fellowship. Please mark your calendars for Saturday, April 26^th beginning at 6:30 - ?. Add Roosevelt will be preparing dinner which will be served with wine from Alto Pass. The cost of each ticket will be approx. $35.00/person. The goal is to have 150 people attend this fun, adult onlyevening. Watch for further information as to how you can help. *** Ask someone that attended last year...it was a blast. People in the community are already asking about it. ****

Parking

Thank you for being more aware of pulling your cars into a parking spot and not stopping in the middle of the parking lot. It is greatly appreciated by all!

Yearbook

Have you ordered your 2007-08 yearbook yet?? Order forms are in the office and the cost is $15.00. Yearbooks come out in the fall so that the entire 07/08 school year is included.

Lost & Found

Please take a few minutes and go through the lost & found items. The container located near the door of the lunchroom. Just before spring break, I will try to lay out all the items in the lunchroom for convenience.

Student Evaluations

Student evaluations have been put in family mailboxes. Please take the time to read through it, as the teachers have spent agreat deal of time and effort on them. If you have questions/concerns be sure to share them with your child's teacher during conferences in April.
