Immunization/Health Form/Dental

We are required by the state to report if our students are in compliance with their immunizations, physicals and dental exams. The state mandates that any child in PreK, Kind., and 6^th need a physical or have a date for an appointment Those students not in compliance on or before October 6^th 2008 will be excluded from school until requirements are met.. Please remember to turn in your completed forms to the office by October 6^th

**Reminder: All Kind., 2^nd and 6^th grade students need a dental exam and Kind. students also need an optical exam.

Field Trips

Oct. 2^nd Thurs. 6^th - 8^th - Carson Center in Paducah - leave approx. 9:15AM - return before 3:00PM.

Oct 3^rd Friday. 6^th - 8^th - Green Retreat in Carbondale. 8:45AM - 12:00PM

Oct. 6^th Monday. 2^nd- 3^rd Free Again Wildlife Refuge from 1:00 - 3:00.

Oct. 10^th Friday - PreK - 1^st - Green Retreat. 9:00 - 11:00 and 2^nd - 5^th from 12:00 - 2:30PM.

Please check your classroom newsletter to see if drivers are needed.

Drivers for Field Trips

If you are able to drive/chaperon on any field trip, you will be asked to fill out a short form that's available in the office. Please bring with you your driver's license and proof of current car insurance. Copies will be made and kept on file in the office. Thanks.

No School & Early Dismissal

Friday, Oct. 3^rd - Early Dismissal (2:00) If your child stays for after school, charges will begin at 3:30 until 5:30.

Monday, October 13^th - No School - Explorer's Day.

Picture DayIndividual student & staff pictures will be scheduled this month (TBA) beginning at 8:45 A.M. The photographer will begin with rebate/volunteers and then onto "The Hammerhead Sharks." If you work at CNS, please plan to have your picture taken for the yearbook. As soon as the date is scheduled, a note will go home.

Oktoberfest

In celebration of Fall/Halloween, the students will participate in a festival on Friday, October 31^st. There are activities from 1:15 -2:15, followed by classroom parties. It's okay for the students to bring their costumes to wear during the celebration. Watch for further details toward the end of the month.

Board Meeting

The next scheduled meeting is on Tues., October 28^th beginning at 6:30pm. All are welcomed to attend.

Work Day

A huge THANK YOU to all the people that came last Saturday for work day. Each month a day will be designated as a CNS work day. So, if you were unable to attend this past one, there will be many more opportunities. Watch for details.

Hot Lunch

I've had a parent talk to me about the possibility of offering another Hot Lunch Day in addition to Pizza day. She checked into Don Taco and the cost for a chicken taco would be $1.65 or vegetable taco for $1.15. If there is enough interest I would check with a current family that could offer the same or similar entree. There is a survey list located on the bulletin board near the main stairs. Please take a moment to let me know if there's interest. Thanks!!

Tae Kwon Do

I meet with a gentlemen, Lee Valerius, who is interested in conducting Tae Kwon Do classes. These classes would be held here after school, a couple times a week for all age students. Watch for a letter from Lee. (Sounds Fun!!!!)
